Savannah horse tour companies caught operating in prohibited weekday hours.

Savannah carriage companies are openly mocking Savannah and city leaders by breaking the laws that govern them right out in the open, every day, on Savannah’s streets.

Horse carriages in Savannah are governed by the “Code of General Ordinances, Article S, Horse Drawn Carriages for Hire.”

Section 6-1566 of the Savannah horse drawn carriage ordinance states:

“Sec. 6-1583. Hours of operation. No horse-drawn carriage shall be operated on city streets between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 8:30 a.m. on any day. No horse-drawn carriage shall operate a tour between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except that such restriction shall not apply on legal holidays.”
