Savannah horse tour companies caught regularly parking horses outside designated carriage stand areas.

Savannah carriage companies are openly mocking Savannah and city leaders by breaking the laws that govern them right out in the open, every day, on Savannah’s streets.

Savannah Carriage Parking Horses Outside Stand Areas

Horse carriages in Savannah are governed by the “Code of General Ordinances, Article S, Horse Drawn Carriages for Hire.”

Section 6-1566 of the Savannah horse drawn carriage ordinance states:

” No parking shall be permitted in the corporate limits of the city except at such stands as may be established by the Mayor and Aldermen upon the recommendation of the City Manager, which parking stands shall be designated by signs. “

A recent complaint from the Hyatt Hotel (which has a carriage stand outside) included security camera footage showing three horses backed up at a stand, disregarding the stand boundaries.
